Cissé holds a PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po Bordeaux and has a master’s degree in Sociology from the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, Senegal and Victor Segalen University in Bordeaux.
Cissé is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Catholic University of West Africa in Dakar (IMES), while also doing research and advocacy on governance issues for the Alliance for Rebuilding Governance in Africa (ARGA). Previously, he worked as a sociologist for the Senegalese National Institute for Agricultural Research. His publications are mainly oriented on issues related to migrations (Senegal and France) and identities.
