The Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP) is an independent think-tank established in 1997 (then under the name Centre for Civil-Military Relations) to advocate for national and human security based on principles of democracy and human rights. It is committed to the consolidation of security sector reform and security integration processes by means of creating an inclusive and knowledge-based security policy.

BCSP activities can be divided into three strategic pillars: Security sector reform and accountability; security threats, risks and challenges; and foreign and security policy and conflict prevention. Within these fields the BCSP conducts its research, advocacy and education, brings together stakeholders and creates networking opportunities in order to achieve its mission.

BCSP relies on active outreach in the traditional and social media, but also on creating online and real life platforms for direct engagement with stakeholders. BCSP’s visibility is continuously growing. In the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, BCSP was the best ranked think-tank in Serbia and in the Western Balkans covering defense, national security, foreign policy and international relations. A small number of Think Tanks per category get to be nominated each year, especially from the Western Balkans, which makes the nomination an achievement in itself.
